SNL - What happened?
Yeah, I am a dumper. This show has fairly stedily gone down since "The not ready for prime time players". It has been on a slow but consistent nose dive with just a few glimpses of the true SNL humour..Change that, just humour, period. After all I will try not to limit "what is SNL humour". Maybe I just dont like where it has gone.
The pace is slow - they take their time so the audience has a chance "to get it". Too many repeated jokes/characters. Many times they go well beyond flogging a dead horse.
Most important at his time - Lorne, WAKE UP!! Change that useless bunch you call talent. IS there really nobody out there????
Let's go through them one by one:
Tina Fey - You just may survive.
Darrel Hammond - good improvs, but can you do anything else?
Amy Poehler - limited talent, already sterotyped.
Maya Rudolph - good pipes, but limited otherwise.
Kristen Wiig - extremely limited talent/use of
Jason Sudeikis - character actor, poor at best
Bill Hader - one character and that is weak
Kenan Thompson - two character, both annoying
Horatio Sanz - lost what ever he once has
Rachel Dratch - half of a character, pathetic sidekick at best
Now the Honour list of the few that have ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to contribute/present and their presence just makes my skin crawl and reach for the remote:
Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Seth Meyers, Andy Samberg.
LORNE - SAVE SNL!! There has to be better talent out there. Drop your interest
at Latenight with Conan O'Brian. He's gone down the toilet also.
I had hope for 30 Rock, but with the annoucment that season 2 will have that
Seinfeld idiot in it, I am not sure if I even want to watch it.. I've got it
downloaded right now, sitting on my hard drive. But scared to watch it incase
I will be disappointed (again). Maybe I'll just watch Burn Notice, over and
over........
